Discovery Kids

Welcome To Discovery Kids

We are excited to connect kids with Jesus and we have a fantastic team of volunteers and staff leading the charge of loving and teaching our nursery, preschool and elementary kids about our awesome Savior! Children will learn about God through Bible stories, fun worship songs and through interaction as they participate in activities which help deepen the faith of young Christians. We would love to partner with parents as they lead their child’s journey of faith.

Monthly Curriculum Overview

Parents can select their child’s age group below to see what their kids will be learning at Discovery this month.

Nursery: Birth - 2 Years Old

Our Nursery provides a safe and loving environment for newborns through two year old children. Through play, storytelling, songs, videos and activities, children are taught to hear, pray, talk and live God’s words in their lives. If you have any questions or are interested in helping out, please connect with Mary Lawson at mary@discoverthelife.org

Preschool: 3 Years Old - Kindergarten

In Preschool, we connect with your children and help them begin to see God in their world and to develop a deeper relationship with God and others by giving them a foundation of 3 basic truths: ‘God Made Me’, ‘God Loves Me’ and ‘Jesus wants to be my friend forever’. If you have any questions or are interested in helping out, please connect with Mary Lawson at mary@discoverthelife.org

Special Needs

Our Special Needs Program is for children who are in kindergarten through grade six. Our goal is to show children the love of Christ and to provide spiritual development. For more information, connect with Mary at mary@discoverthelife.org

Elementary: Grades 1-3

Our Elementary Students are taught the Word of God through Bible lessons, energetic worship, remember verses, object lessons, skits and a variety of other methods all designed to connect kids with God and nurture a growing relationship with Christ. For more information, connect with Mary at mary@discoverthelife.org

Elementary (PreTeen): Grades 4-5

Parent Resources

Baptisms

The 3rd – 5th Grade Children’s Baptism Class is for children who would like to learn more about Christian Baptism or for children who have made the personal decision to accept Christ and would like to be baptized. This one-session class has the answers to questions like What is baptism?, Who should be baptized?, and Am I ready to be baptized? Parents are asked to register to participate in this class with their child.

Child Dedications

Children are a blessing from God. The child dedication ceremony is a way for parents to publicly thank God for the blessing of their child and to promise God they will raise their child to know, honor and obey God and to love and serve Jesus Christ. The dedication ceremony does not pass on salvation to a child. However, the parent’s goal is to raise their child in this way so that their child will choose salvation for him or herself when he or she is mature enough to do so. Parents are asked to participate in the Parents’ Child Dedication Class in preparation for the Child Dedication Ceremony. The next Ceremony will be on April 21, 2024.
